Spring brings with it the air of celebration. First, there is Easter, which which is a holiday at the beginning of spring. But there are also graduations, confirmations, weddings, birthdays, and Mother’s Day. Spring also makes one feel like celebrating even if there is no specific occasion. There are cookouts and impromptu gatherings after ballgames.

Will all these different occasions there is one downside. Most of them seem to require us to give a present. I have a young son who can’t wait for school to be over each spring. Then he spends many days laying in the sun by the pool.
